연습가이드 모음 1~10

나는 평소에 7시에 일어나. 오늘은 8시에 일어났어. 내일은 6시에 일어날 거야.

I usually get up at 7. Today I got up at 8. Tomorrow I'm going to get up at 6.

 

나는 평소에 블랙커피를 마셔. 오늘은 라떼를 마셨어. 다음번에는 에스프레소를 마실 거야.

I usually drink black coffee. Today I drank a latte. Next time, I'm going to drink an espresso.

 

나는 평소에 12시 전에 자. 어젯밤에는 1시쯤에 잤어. 오늘은 10시에 잘 거야.

I usually go to bed before midnight. Last night, I went to bed around 1 o'clock. Today, I'm going to go to bed at 10.

 

나는 평소에 카페테리아에서 점심을 먹어. 오늘은 사무실에서 바나나를 먹었어. 내일은 버거킹에서 점심을 먹을 거야.

I usually eat lunch at the cafeteria. Today I ate some bananas in my office. Tomorrow, I'm going to eat lunch at Burgerking.

 

나는 원래 페퍼로니 피자만 먹었어. 근데 어느 날 친구가 나보고 하와이안 피자를 먹어보라는 거야. 그래서 먹었지. 근데 좋았어! 진짜 맛있더라고. 그래서 하와이안피자를 좀 더 자주 먹기 시작했어.

I used to eat only pepperoni pizza. But one day, a friend said that I should try a Hawaiian pizza. So I did. And I liked it! It was really good! So, I started eating Hawaiian pizzas much more often.

 

그때부터 피자를 먹고 싶을 때마다 페퍼로니보다는 하와이안을 먹게 됐지. 요즘엔 하와이안만 먹어. 파인애플 토핑 없이는 피자 못 먹겠어.

And since then, whenever I want a pizza, I've become getting the Hawaiian rather than the pepperoni. And nowadays, I only eat Hawaiian. I can't eat pizza without pineapple toppings.

원래는 친구들 몇 명이랑 영화 보고 같이 점심을 먹으려고 했어. 그런데 친구 하나가 갑자기 일이 생긴 거야. 그래서 결국 다 취소하게 됐어.

I was actually going to go to the movies with some friends and we were going to have lunch together. But, one of them suddenly had something to do. So we (just) ended up canceling the whole thing.

원래는 더 좋은 모델을 사고 싶었어요. 그런데 돈이 없는 거에요. 그래서 결국엔 이걸로 사게 됐어요.

I actually wanted to buy(get) a higher model. But, I didn't have enough money. So, I ended up buying(getting) this one.

 

원래는 해외 여행을 가려고 했어요. 그런데 티켓을 못 구한 거예요. 그래서 결국 아무 데도 못 갔죠.

I was actually planning to travel abroad(overseas). But we couldn't get the tickets. So, eventually we couldn't go anywhere.

 

원래는 디저트를 진짜 안 먹으려고 했어. 근데 케익이 너~무 맛있어 보이는 거야. 그래서 안 먹을 수가 없었어(참을 수가 없었어). 결국은 세 조각이나 먹었어.

I really wasn't going to eat any dessert. But the cake looked so~ good! I couldn't resist. I ended up eating 3 pieces.

 

원래는 얘기 안 하려고 했어. 근데 네가 얘기를 꺼내서 말인데 실은 궁금한 게 하나 있어.

I wasn't going to say anything. But since you bring it up, I have something I want to ask you. // There's something I want to ask you. // I have one question for you.

 

1년 전까지만 해도 우리는 완전히 모르는 사이었어. 근데 파티에서 만나고 나서 우리는 아주 가까워졌어. 지금은 제일 친한 친구가 됐어.

Up until a year ago, we were complete strangers. But after we met at a party, we got really close(r). Now, we have become best friends.

 

나 엄청 아팠었어. 근데 시간이 좀 지나면서 많이 나아졌어. 그리고 지금은 완전히 치유됐어.

I was really sick. But after some time, I got (a lot / much) better. And now I've become completely cured.

 

걔가 우리반에서우리 반에서 제일 느린 애였어. 근데 진짜 열심히 운동해서 훨씬 빨라진 거야. 그래서 지금은 우리 반에서 제일 빠른 애가 됐잖아.

He was(used to be) the slowest person in our class. But he exercised really hard, and he got much faster. (And) Now, he has become the fastest person in our class.

 

저기 원래 아무것도 없었어. 그런데 엄청 발전해서 되게 유명해진 거야. 그래서 지금은 우리집 주변에서 가장 유명한 장소 중 하나가 됐어.

That place used to be completely empty. But after a lot of development, the place got much more popular. And now it has become one of the most popular places in my neighborhood.

 

오늘 아침에 집에서 막 아침을 먹고 딱 나오려는데 그 순간 갑자기 화장실이 너무 급한 거야. 그래서 늦고 말았어.

This morning, I was at home. I had just eaten breakfast. Just as I was about to leave, I had to go to the bathroom really bad. So, I was late.

 

어젯밤에 막 퇴근하고 나서 사무실 건물 밖에서(앞에서) 딱 버스를 타려는데 지갑을 안 가지고 온 거야.

Last night, I had just gotten off work. I was in front of my office building. And just as I was about to take the bus, I noticed (that) I didn't have my wallet with me.

 

그래서 어쨌는데? 뭐 어쨌겠어. 다시 가지러 올라갔지 뭐.

So, what did you do? What else could I do? I had to go back up to get it.

 

며칠 전에 학교 도서관에서 막 보고서를 다 작성하고 이제 교수님한테 그걸 딱 보내려고 하는데 갑자기 와이파이 연결에 문제가 생긴 거야!

A few days ago, I was in the school library. I had just finished (typing up) my report. (And) Just as I was trying to send it to my professor, I started having problems with my Wi-Fi connection!

 

오늘 아침에 집에서 막 일어 나가지고 화장실에 가려고 걸어가는데 아래층에서 엄마가 누구랑 얘기하고 있는 거야.

This morning, I was at home. I had just gotten up. And just as I was walking over to the bathroom, I heard my mother talking to someone downstairs.

 

5년 전에 막 졸업을 하고 나서 그때 막 취업을 하려는데 갑자기 저희 할머니께서 돌아가셨어요.

Five years ago, I had just graduated from school. And just as I was trying to get(find) a job, my grandmother passed away.

어제 백화점에 갔는데 진짜 마음에 드는 코트가 있는 거야. 점원이 그게 마지막 남은 거라고 하더라고.

I went to the department store yesterday. There was(I saw / I found) a coat that I really liked. The clerk said that it was the last one.

 

그래서 그걸 그냥 바로 살 수 있었지. 근데 더 좋은 게 있는지 한번 알아보고 싶었어. 그래서 둘러봤는데 더 좋은 걸 못 찾았어.

So, I could've bought(gotten) it right away. But I wanted to see if there was anything(something) better. So I looked around, but I couldn't find anything better.

 

그 첫 번째 가게로 다시 돌아갔을 때에는 이미 누가 그 코트를 사간 후였어. 기회가 있을 때 샀어야 했는데.

By the time I went back to the first place(store), someone had already bought(purchased) that coat. I should've gotten(purchased) it when I had the chance.

 

제 친구 중 하나가 최근에 일을 그만뒀어요. 글쎄요, 아마 상사랑 문제가 좀 있었나 보죠? 그게 아니라면 갑자기 몸이 안 좋아졌을 수도 있고요.

One of my friends recently quit his job. I don't know, (I'm guessing) he must've had some problems with his boss. Either that or, he might've had some health problems.

 

그게 아니라면 그 일이 질려서 그랬을 리는 없어요. 제가 그 친구를 아는데 걔는 그 일을 만족스러워했거든요.

Either way, it couldn't have been because he got tired of his job // he was sick of his job. I know him. He was really satisfied with his job.

 

방금 여기 오는 길에 혼자 방황하는 개를 봤는데 너무 지저분해 보이더라고요. 몇 달은 못 씻은 것 같았어요.

Just now(before), on my way here, I saw a dog wandering around by itself. It looked really dirty. It looked like it hadn't taken a bath(washed) in several months.

 

보나 마나 주인도 없는 것 같던데. 가장 최악이었던 건 애가 너무 마른 거예요. 가죽이랑 뼈밖에 안 남은 것처럼 보이더라니까요?

It was pretty clear(obvious) that it didn't have an owner. The worst thing(part) was the dog was so thin(skinny). It almost looked as if it had nothing left but (except) its skin and bones.

 

대충 크기나 그런 걸로 봐서는 꽤 어린것 같았어요.

Roughly judging by its size and everything, I think it was pretty young.

 

최근에 세탁기를 샀는데 어제 도착했어요. 근데 막상 보니까 생각보다 훨씬 큰 거예요. 화장실에 넣으려고 했는데 안 들어가더라고요.

Recently, I bought a new laundry machine and it arrived yesterday. But, it turned out to be much bigger than I thought. I was going to put it in the bathroom, but it didn't fit.

 

그래서 뭐, 어쩔 수 없었죠. 그냥 반품했어요. 그렇다고 그걸 침실에 두고 쓸 수는 없잖아요?

So, you know, there wasn't anything I could do. I had to send it back. It's not like I could keep it in my bedroom, right?

 

다른 모델을 찾고 배송 일정을 다시 잡고 이게 다 너무 귀찮아서 그냥 환불 처리하고 예전에 쓰던 거 계속 쓰려고요.

But you know, it felt like too much trouble looking for a different model and scheduling another delivery, so I (just) canceled the purchase, and I decided to use my old laundry machine(my old one).

 

다음 달 연휴에 무슨 계획 있어요? 부모님이랑 여행을 갈지도 몰라요. 근데 아직 확실한 건 아니에요.

Do you have any plans during the holidays next month? I might be going on a short trip with my parents. But, it's not for sure yet.

 

아직까지는 어디에 갈 지만 정해 놓은 상태고요. 아직 정확한 날짜도 못 정했어요. 게다가 그 주에 근무 일정이 어떻게 될지 상사랑 얘기해 봐야 하는 상황이에요.

So far, we've only decided where to go. We haven't even decided on a specific date yet. And I still have to check with my boss about what my work schedule is going to look like, that week.

 

어떻게 됐어? 학교에서는 연락 왔어?

How did it go? Did you hear (anything) from the school?

 

아니, 사실은 지원서를 아직 작성 중이야.

No, actually I'm still working on my application.

 

어떻게 된 거야? 벌써 제출했을 줄 알았는데.

What happened? I thought you would've submitted it by now.

 

지금쯤이면 잘하게 될 줄 알았는데.

I thought I would've gotten(become) really good at it by now.

 

지금쯤이면 끝냈을 줄 알았는데.

지금쯤이면 네가 직장 그만뒀을 줄 알았는데.

I thought he would've gotten married by now.

 

오타가 있을까 봐 밤새 검토했어. 부주의해 보이면 안 되잖아. 책임감이 부족하다는 인상을 주고 싶지는 않아.

I was afraid(worried) (that) there might be some typos, so I was up all night double-checking it. I don't want to look(seem) careless. I don't want them to think that I lack responsibility.

 

오타를 발견하고 지원서를 끝까지 읽어보지도 않으면 어떡해?

What if they find a typo and don't even read through the entire application?
